KION, a member company of the inter-university consortium CINECA, specialising in the design and deployment of IT solutions for universities.
When the company decided to target the schools sector with a solution suitable for use as an electronic register, it turned to BMP to generate visibility in this new market.
As a first step, BMP supported KION in defining the key messages that would emphasise the credibility of the company’s university heritage and the strengths of its new software for the schools sector.
The agency then implemented an ongoing press office programme to promote the new solution and the specific areas of expertise of the company and its management team. The press office majored on communicating the results of studies and research carried out by the company and on writing and placing bylined articles in specialist magazines, in order to position the managers as experts in their sector.
Exclusive press interviews were also organised, alongside the production and dissemination of success stories in which KION’s clients endorsed the firm’s technology offering.
In this way, KION secured the interest of both the major media – including the TG2 newscast of national TV station RAI, il Venerdì di Repubblica and Italia Oggi – and specialist titles covering the public sector and schools, such as Innovazione PA, Tuttoscuola and Orizzonte Scuola.
